#OldPostFromFacebook

Now that I have come to terms that my (a few days short of) 4 year old’s relation with schooling and education system as such is “complicated”, I keep trying my level best to explain the importance of it. Sometimes, only to fail miserably 😒😒

The day was one of that kinds
As usual, I was driving him to activity club. I am almost scared of those rides these days. Clearly, that is the time this little one has his thinking cap on and I am bombarded with all sorts of questions.

Waiting at the signal, his eyes caught a sight of policeman seeing someone’s license
“Mumma, why is police uncle seeing the ID card?”
“Baby, thats called Driving License, one needs to have it while driving. That means you can drive and hence less chances of accidents”

“Oh, but then why don’t I have one! I too ride bicycle”, this was quite expected knowing him
“No worries baby, go to police uncle over the weekend with your dad and get one for yourself”, I conveniently passed on the problem 😛😛

Just then, I thought of this opportunity to take the discussion in my favour
“Do you know, you need to know reading and writing for driving a car?”
“No mumma we don’t, I know it!”

“Baby, how will you read the boards on road to know the route then??”
“I will use papa’s phone. You get the map there!”
“I agree beta, but then you need to read the instructions"
"They show a picture of standing lines and sleeping lines for where we want to go. And the aunty also tells you, go left go straight etc. So I will know it that way”

“You are right, I never thought of it”, I felt the need for safe escape. Telling him that you need to enter source and destination wasn’t going to save me, I thought

Plainly not my day!
